Islam

                                   Islam

The Arabian Peninsula is where Islam, a monotheistic religion, got its start in the early 7th century. In Islamic belief, it is based on the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, who is regarded as the last and only prophet of God. With over 1.8 billion adherents, Islam is the world's second-largest religion and the most rapidly expanding major religion.

Islam's Five Pillars:

The five pillars are regarded as the essential components of the Muslim faith and worship service is the foundation upon which Islamic practice is built. These are the pillars:

1. Shahada, or Faith Testimony
It is a statement of faith that affirms Muhammad's prophethood and the oneness of God.                             "There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is his messenger" is the declaration.

2. Prayer Salat
Fajr (dawn), Zohar (afternoon), Asr (afternoon), Maghrib (sunset), and Isha (night) are the five daily prayers that Muslims are required to say in front of Mecca. Muslims believe that prayer is the foundation of their religion.

3. Charity, or zakat
Every Muslim who satisfies the specified requirements is required to contribute to the charity known as zakat. It typically amounts to 2.5% of a Muslim's annual assets and savings and is given to the needy and poor.

4. Sawm (of the Feast)
During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims refrain from eating, drinking, and fulfilling other physical needs from dawn to dusk. Fasting is regarded as a form of self-control and purification.

5. Pilgrimage or Hajj
Every Muslim who is physically and financially able is required to make the Hajj, a pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia, at least once in their lifetime. Muslims embark on this journey to purify themselves of sin and strengthen their faith.

                                    Quran

Muslims consider the Qur'an to be the word of God as it was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad over 23 years. It is the holy book of Islam. The 114 chapters, or surahs, are arranged in order of length, with the longest surah at the start and the shortest at the end. The Qur'an provides direction for all facets of human existence, including spirituality, ethics, and morality.

                              Islamic Beliefs

Muslims believe in a single, compassionate, and benevolent God. Humans have free will and the ability to choose between right and wrong because God is just as well. Muslims believe that there are angels who carry out God's will and that everyone will be held accountable for their actions in this life on the Day of Judgment.

Muslims also hold to the idea of predestination, which states that while God has already predetermined everything that takes place in the world, humans are still accountable for their choices and actions.

                           Islamic Practices

In addition to adhering to the Five Pillars, Muslims are urged to follow the Hadith and the Sunnah, or way of life, of the Prophet Muhammad. Regardless of their religion or ethnicity, Muslims are expected to be honest, humble, and compassionate toward others.

Additionally, education and the pursuit of knowledge are highly valued in Islam. Mathematics, astronomy, medicine, and philosophy are just a few of the fields in which Muslim scholars have made significant contributions.

                            Islamic Holidays

Muslims observe two significant holidays annually:

1. Eid al-Fitr
This marks the end of the month of Ramadan and is a day of celebration and feasting.

2. Eid al-Adha:
This commemorates the Prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son and is celebrated by sacrificing an animal and distributing the meat to the needy.
